Privacy Policy - Your Privacy Rights
This site was developed, and is operated, by Monster and Military Advantage, Inc. under
contract on behalf of U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Labor, and U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs.
We value your privacy. We strive to provide a safe, secure user experience. This Privacy
Policy sets forth the online data collection and usage policies and practices that apply to
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com (sometimes referred to herein as “we”). This Privacy Policy does
not replace or overwrite Military.com's
Privacy Policy or
Monster's
Privacy Policy .
Collection and Use of Information by TransitionAssistanceProgram.com
We gather or may gather certain information about your use of TransitionAssistanceProgram.com,
such as what areas you visit and what services you access. Moreover, there is information about
your computer hardware and software that is or may be collected by us. This information can include
without limitation your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site
addresses, but is not linked to your personal information.
Use of Cookies
We use "cookies" to help personalize and maximize your online experience and time online. A
cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard drive by a Web page server. Cookies are not used
to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to your
computer, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time.
The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For
example, if you personalize pages, or register for services, a cookie helps us to recall your
specific information (such as user name, password and preferences). Because of our use of cookies,
we can deliver faster and more accurate results and a more personalized site experience. When you
return to TransitionAssistanceProgram.com, the information you previously provided can be
retrieved, so you can easily use the features that you customized. We also use cookies to track
click streams and for load balancing.
You may have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept
cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline all cookies if you prefer.
Alternatively, you may be able to modify your browser setting to notify you each time a cookie is
tendered and permit you to accept or decline cookies on an individual basis. Choosing to decline
cookies may hinder performance and negatively impact your experience on
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com.
Use of Web Beacons
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com may contain electronic images known as Web beacons (sometimes
called single-pixel gifs) that allow us to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver
co-branded services. Web beacons are not used to access your personally identifiable information;
they are a technique we use to compile aggregated statistics about our Web site usage. Web beacons
collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view,
and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides.
You may not decline web beacons; however, they can be rendered ineffective by declining all
cookies or modifying your browser setting to notify you each time a cookie is tendered and permit
you to accept or decline cookies on an individual basis.
DoubleClick Technology
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com, through Monster, uses DoubleClick technology to track usage
and provide dynamic content. In most cases, when you see an Internet ad, DoubleClick or DoubleClick
technology has been used for ad delivery, reporting or analysis of usage. The information
DoubleClick processes on such a website's behalf belongs to that website and is not further used by
DoubleClick. DoubleClick does not own the information collected and cannot use it for its own
business purposes.
If You Send Us Personal Information
If you choose to provide us with personal information by building a resume, uploading a
resume, applying for a job with an employer, sending an email to one of our online email boxes, or
by filling out a form with your personal information and submitting through our web site,
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com uses that information to respond to your message and to help get
you the information you have requested.
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com collects personally identifiable information (name, email
address, Social Security number, or other unique identifier) only if specifically and knowingly
provided by you. Your Social Security Number will only be provided to Federal recruiters for
application to positions per regulations detailed below. Applications to private companies will not
contain your SSN and will not be viewable during any resume searches by private employers or
Federal recruiters.
Executive Order 9397 (November 22, 1943) requires that any person doing business with the
Federal government must furnish a Social Security Number or tax identification number. Federal
agencies must have your Social Security Number (SSN) to identify your records because other people
may have the same name and birth date. The Office of Personnel Management may also use your SSN to
make requests for information about you from employers, schools, banks, and others who know you,
but only as allowed by law or Presidential directive. The information collected by using your SSN
will be used for Federal employment purposes and also for studies and statistics that will not
identify you. Providing your SSN, or any other information is voluntary. However, Federal agencies
cannot process your application, which is the first step toward getting a job, if you do not
provide the requested information.
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com only shares the information you give us with a third party if
your inquiry relates to that organization, or as otherwise required by law.
Personal Information on Resumes and Profiles
TransitionAssistanceProgram.com provides three options regarding the accessibility of your
resume:
1. You can store your resume in our database, but not allow it to be searchable by potential
employers. Not allowing your resume to be searchable means that you can use it to apply for a job
online (your resume will be forwarded to employers to whose jobs you have applied), but employers
and recruiters will not have access to search it through our resume database product.
2. If you allow your resume to be searchable without making it confidential and hiding your
contact information, then all parties with access to our searchable resume database (or copies
thereof) will have access to your resume.
3. If you have a confidential resume, but apply to a job posting on Monster, the employer to
whom you send your resume will be able to view your contact information.
Notice Of New Services And Changes
Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes
to our Web site, new services, and special offers we think you will find valuable. If you would not
like to receive these notifications, you can remove yourself from these lists at any time by
emailing us at
TAPHelp@military-inc.com.
