Returning to civilian life is an exciting time, one full of hope for what the next chapter might bring. But the transition is also a complex undertaking. The servicemember has many steps to take, and many questions to get answered. This website is intended to help servicemembers plan and get the answers they need.
It is also for people like you — transition assistance staff, personnel office staff, and others — who help the servicemembers through the transition process. This website is intended to supplement the TAP workshop and the services you offer. It is not a replacement of those services.

Individual Transition Plan
Servicemembers can create their own transition plan. By inputting information about themselves and their goals for civilian life, we create a customized transition plan. This transition plan provides information about finding a job, relocating, education and training options, veteran benefits, handling personal finances, and more!
Moreover, this Individual Transition Plan can be updated at any time — as the servicemember’s goals evolve and change.
Transition Guides
You can access the official DoD Transition Guides on this website. There are two versions: (1) Active Duty and (2) Guard/Reserve. They are available for download in PDF format — for you to use as handouts in presentations or for general distribution.
